Azizakpey Island Residents Benefit From Community Outreach Initiative in 2021
Residents of Azizakpey Island received essential welfare and educational support in 2021 through a community outreach initiative led by the Ephraim & Friends Foundation, in collaboration with partners and donors committed to improving living conditions in underserved island communities.
The outreach focused on meeting immediate needs while fostering connection and hope among residents.
Over 4,500 Clothing Items Distributed
As part of the intervention, the Foundation distributed more than 4,500 clothing items to both children and adults across the island. The donations ensured that residents had access to appropriate clothing for daily wear and special occasions.
Footwear and Mobility Support
To improve comfort and mobility, the outreach included the distribution of 150 pairs of footwear, addressing a key need within the community and supporting everyday activities.
Educational Materials for Schoolchildren
Education support formed a significant component of the project. Over 20 school bags, along with assorted stationery items, were donated to pupils, helping to improve school preparedness and participation among young learners.
Hygiene, Food, and Household Essentials
The Foundation also distributed assorted toiletries and food items, contributing to better hygiene and improved daily living conditions for families on the island.
In addition, more than 30 handbags were provided, adding to the practical household essentials received by community members.
Community Partnership and Collective Impact
The 2021 Azizakpey Island Outreach was made possible through the support of 47 partners and donors, whose collective contributions ensured the success of the initiative.
According to the Foundation, the project underscored the importance of community-centered outreach, emphasizing that meaningful impact goes beyond material support to include presence, empathy, and sustained commitment.
