Aflive Island Residents Receive Education and Welfare Support in 2022 Outreach

Residents of Aflive Island benefited from a wide-ranging humanitarian outreach in 2022 as the Ephraim & Friends Foundation delivered essential welfare items alongside educational support and community engagement activities.

The initiative formed part of the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to improve living conditions and promote long-term development within underserved island communities in Ghana.

Thousands of Clothing Items and Shoes Distributed

During the outreach, the Foundation distributed over 5,000 pieces of clothing and more than 200 pairs of shoes to families across the island. The donations helped meet basic daily needs and provided practical support for both children and adults.

Academic Support for Schoolchildren

Education was a major focus of the project. Students on Aflive Island received 60 mathematics learning sets, designed to enhance numeracy skills and encourage active classroom participation.

Additionally, stationery supplies valued at approximately GHC 1,000 were donated to support pupils with essential learning materials throughout the school year.

Hygiene and Food Relief for Households

To address household welfare, the outreach included the distribution of assorted toiletries worth over GHC 1,500, helping families maintain proper hygiene.

Food support was also provided, with groceries valued at GHC 700 and additional food items exceeding GHC 2,000, contributing to improved food availability within the community.

Educational Talks and Community Dialogue

Beyond material aid, members of the outreach team held educational talks and interactive discussions with residents. These sessions focused on shared learning, social awareness, and strengthening community bonds.

The engagement created an open platform for exchanging ideas and identifying ways to support continued growth on the island.

Building Stronger Island Communities

The 2022 Aflive Island Outreach underscored the importance of combining material assistance with education and dialogue. According to the Foundation, the project reflects a broader commitment to empowering island communities through sustainable and people-centered interventions.
